Tomorrow is Military Spouse Appreciation Day, and it's a very important day for Concorde as a health care career college. On Military Spouse Appreciation Day we honor the contributions and sacrifices made by military spouses. As much as our soldiers deployed around the world, the commitment and support of spouses helps keep our country safe. They're the "silent" heroes who are essential to the strength of the nation, and they serve our country just like their loved ones.

In celebration of Military Spouse Appreciation Day, the armed forces have special events and programs to inform, honor and recognize military spouses around the world. Events range from spouse appreciation luncheons, to educational workshops and spouse employment fairs that pay tribute to military spouses.

At Concorde, we honor military spouses with a range of benefits that include tuition assistance, registration fee credits and accelerated training that helps get them through health care career college in a timely fashion and prepares them for careers that fit well with military life.

 

Health care career college assistance in San Diego

 

Concorde Career College - San Diego offers a Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for members of the military and their families.

"This is a military Concorde grant of $1,000 for spouse and children only," said Mina Lopez, Assistant Director of Financial Aid, VA Certifying Official and Military Central Advisor at Concorde - San Diego. "This grant can be used as a credit toward tuition or books."

Concorde - San Diego also offers a registration fee credit for active duty, active reservist, veterans with discharge statuses other than dishonorable and the spouses, children and stepchildren of such individual. The campus also participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which contributes educational funding for eligible individuals, including military spouses.

 

Health care career college training that transfers well into military life

 

Shane Pearson, MA.ED., BSHS RRT, RPFT, CCT, Respiratory Program Director at Concordes campus in Aurora, Colo. and a member of Concorde's Advisory Board at Military Central, said there are many benefits of the health care career college that help military spouses.

"The main benefits of the accelerated education programs we can offer at Concorde for military spouses include enhanced program completion, worldwide profession credentialing and education that correlates with federal government job opportunities," Pearson said. "Most military assignments are 2-4 years in length, and most traditional education programs take at least 3-5 years to complete. Our programs are less than two years."

Upon completion of a Concorde program, our graduates earn credentialing eligibility validating them as one of a few qualified to practice in a profession. National credentialing permits graduates to petition for state licensure to practice in a given profession anywhere in the United States and some foreign countries.

"In addition, there are plenty of federal government employment opportunities available in all of the health care professions Concorde Career College offers."
