A career in nursing made sense to me because of the security and variety. Becoming a nurse has afforded me the opportunity to up and move from California to Colorado. As a nurse I was able to explore and discover a variety of health care specialties from long-term care to rehab, from the operating room to pediatrics, and to education.
I want students to know that the while the nursing programs are intense, when students commit themselves, they can be successful. As evidenced by our campus pass rates and placement rates. My philosophy for education, centers around exploration and curiosity. Ask questions. My favorite in nursing is WHY? Our team is ready and able to walk though any question
Helping a student become a nurse is my motivation, I have not only impacted their life, their family, their future patients and their patients' families. The number of people that amounts to from helping one life change is exponential. That is why I do what I do, everyday!
Career Outlook
Nurses are Key to a Health Care System
The nursing field is expected to continue to grow nationally, driven in part by projected growth in the population and aging baby boomer generation.
Growth is expected for a number of reasons, including and increased emphasis on preventive care; growing rates of chronic conditions, such as diabetes and obesity and demand for healthcare services from aging population. While people live longer, more people will retire, and this will include nursing professionals.
While the very population that needs nursing care grows, the gap in active nursing professionals will grow. A challenge that will drive additional demand for skilled nursing graduates.
